Martin Kabrhel Cracks Kings Twice to Beat Johan YoH ViraL Guilbert in $294,920 Pot

The 2023 World Series of Poker Europe is in full flow, with proceedings for the record-breaking 10,350 Main Event currently underway at King's Resort in Rozvadov.

And while there's been some immense tournament poker on display already, there's been plenty of exciting action in the cash game streets here at King's. Yesterday's cash game livestream featured some huge names such as Martin Kabrhel, Johan "YoH ViraL" Guilbert, Rob Yong, Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier and casino owner Leon Tsoukernik.

Lightening Can Strike Twice

As expected with these high rollers, there were plenty of straddles, with the game ballooning to 100/200/400/800/1600.

One of the noteworthy hands from the eight-hour session was between the polarizing Kabrhel and GGPoker'sGame of Gold participant Guilbert.

The hand kicked off with Yong (235,000) opening to 2,400 from the button with Q10. Surprisingly, Kabrhel (209,000) just flatted in the small blind with AK before Guilbert (130,000) made it 14,400 from the big blind with KK.

50K WSOP Diamond High Roller winner Santhosh Suvarna folded his hand in the straddle to put the action back on Yong, who called the three-bet. Kabrehel moved all in and saw Guilbert call before Yong got out of the way to set up the 276,000 ($294,920) pot.

The pair agreed to run it twice, and it was then up to lady luck to see who would come out on top.

On the first board, the J79 flop kept Guilbert as the favorite but the A turn left the Frenchman drawing to the final king in the deck. The river was a brick, and the first half of the pot was awarded to Kabrhel.

They say lightning doesn't strike twice, but that obviously doesn't apply to poker, as Kabrhel found another ace on the turn on the second runout to scoop the massive pot.

Unfortunately for Kabrhel, a majority of his profits headed to the way of Suvarna after the latter dragged in a 400,000 ($427,420) pot, which then broke the game. Kabrhel booked a small victory of 1,200 ($1,282), while Suvarna was the biggest winner and was in the black for 197,000 ($210,504). Guilbert was stuck the most and finished down around 230,000 ($245,767).
